Joel Schaefer - When Words Fail: Shrek The Musical

Joel Schaefer was born in Geneva, Switzerland, but grew up in Calgary, Alberta. Having discovered a passion for theatre through school and community productions, he successfully auditioned for the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts to begin his professional training. Joel graduated in 2014 as Valedictorian, performing as The Baker in Into the Woods in his final production. In 2015, he graduated with a Master of Arts in Musical Theatre from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, which culminated in a month-long run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the original musical Under the Ground, and in Urinetown as Officer Lockstock. Since moving back to Toronto, he has been performing and music directing around the country.
